The yacht-club of Chupa village
Our sea yacht-club is based in the White Sea bay in Karelia, North-East of Russia near the village of Chupa. The main purposes of the club are development and popularization of the yacht sailing in our region. We have sailing courses for kids and adults, yacht skipper courses. The club arranges long sport sailing trips up to 500 miles in the White Sea for those who wish to develop their sailing skills. Our club has created and launched the project "Healthy life-style and Reestablishing of the Northern Seafaring Traditions as the Basis for the Social and Cultural Development of the Youth in the North of Karelia", that has been running for several years now. Our yachts take part in the different regattas of the Norh-West region including the Solovki Sailing regatta.
The Keret-tour company
The company was established by the members of the club at the end of the 90th when there was a strong need of independent financing of the club's activity. Today the company offers yacht charter, tourist destinations in the North of Karelia, hotel accommodation, the White Sea yacht trips to the Solovki islands.
Visiting Yachts
Visiting yachts and their crews are welcome to the Club. The "Chupa Sea Yacht Club" is situated at the top of the Chupa bay of the Kandalaksha gulf in the White Sea almost near the Polar Circle. Water area is wind protected from all directions. Boats up to 3 meter immersion can easily pass to the yacht club's territory. The fairway is marked by leading beacons. The breadth of the fairway is not less then half a mile.

The Solovki Sailing Regatta
The Solovki Sailing Regatta is the most northern sailing regatta in Russia. It is held just a few miles from the Polar Circle and got its name for its route goes near the Solovki islands in the White Sea. The first regatta took place in 1974 and consisted of five legs more then 500 miles of whole length.
Now up to 30 yachts of different classes from many regions of Russia take part in the Solovki Sailing Regatta every summer. It has more complicated weather and navigation conditions then other sea regattas. The regatta is divided into several racing routes, so that yacht crew can show not only racing but also navigation skills in conditions of flood and ebb streams.
Main aims of the regatta are popularization of sailing sport and further development of cruising races in the sailing centers of the Russian North and the White Sea, improvement of crew skills in the sea races, revealing the best crews and yacht club's teams.
The contest is managed by the Committee for Physical Culture and Sport of Arkhangelsk region and regional Sailing Federation. The Racing Committee, approved by the Sailing Federation of Arkhangelsk region, is responsible for the realization of the contests. Any cruising yacht of any country and of any sport organization, with rights for navigation and rating certificate can take part in the Solovki Sailing Regatta.
